Woodlands Park

Woodland Park

Woodlands Park is located at the corner of Woodland Street and Carnarvon Road.

The area was originally a Public Water Reserve. In 1883 the Lands Department wanted the open space. This was resisted by the local Councillors who wanted to keep the land for a park. The local Councillors won and the subsequently spent 300 pounds on work in the park such as forming the reservoir to retain the water from the Five Mile Creek in the reserve.
